The first honey harvest of this year was realized from the honey bee colonies cultivated in our university.
The honey harvest was held early this year due to the rainy spring months and dense flower vegetation. Our Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa ALİCAN and his wife Dr. Lecturer Prof. Dr. Songül ALİCAN attended the honey harvest, which has an important place within the scope of natural and sustainable agriculture studies of our university. Vice Rector and Dean of the Faculty of Applied Sciences Prof. Dr. Yaşar KARADAĞ stated in his speech that the regular rainfall and long flowering period this year made it a productive year for beekeeping. Prof. Dr. KARADAĞ said, “This year our harvest has been very abundant and we are happy to share this success.” He also thanked our Rector and the accompanying delegation for their presence.Our Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa ALİCAN emphasized that beekeeping activities are of great importance for our university: “We will further expand our beekeeping activities and carry out important projects in this field. These studies will both support our scientific research and provide an important learning opportunity for our students.” Our Rector thanked everyone who participated in the harvest and expressed his belief that they will make more progress in beekeeping.
